Last night we had that talk, you know the one, the *finances* talk. We are in a very strange place right now as far as they go. My wonderful husband Tim has been in the software business for 24 years and decided early this year that he wanted to pursue his passion, working for a Non Profit. Twice the satisfaction – half the salary. So we are tightening our belts, revisiting what we can and can’t live without. I was up until 3 am last night thinking about it. First what I can live without
Eating out, I love to cook and I am pretty good at it so I can live without paying for someone else to do it for me.
New clothes. I have some great pieces that are timeless so I will be “good” for a while.
Vacations. My trip to France will have to wait.
Diamonds and fancy jewelry. They really don’t go well with farm life anyway.
New furniture and knick knacks. This is a hard one because I love to decorate, but I think instead I will just sew new slip covers and drapes.
Okay now the things I “Can’t live without”
Craft Supplies. I would die if I couldn’t create.
Garage Sales, Flea Markets, Rummage Sales etc. I am such a sucker for any one of these. I have found some great “Diamonds in the rough” through the years including the crystal chandelier in my bedroom.
There you have it, my Cans and Cant’s. Don’t you just love the craft room in pink. One day mine will look like this all neat and organized and pink. I will have to wait a while because I have to give up new furniture – Remember! That is all for now, until next time slow down and enjoy the “Pretty Little Things” today, especially the FREE ones.
