After many years of celebrating Halloween with costume parties and haunted houses I finally decided to come out with a small (very small) Halloween collection. My first ever.
Growing up I always loved Halloween. My mother, bless her heart, made all of our costumes every year. I especially remember my green satin elf costume complete with curly green shoes. Oh how I wish I still had a picture of it. My other favorite, a clown made from real Dennison Crepe Paper. I grew up in Southern California so no chance it would rain on us in October.
As an adult we have always gone out 110% for Halloween. Graveyards on the front lawn and haunted houses and Mad Science Laboratories in the garage. Each year was a different theme. One year, Haunted Castle complete with a castle gate, guillotine and stretch rack made by my wonderful husband. Another year a mad scientist lab where my dear nephew hung from the garage beams. The little ones thought it was a dummy until he reached out to grab them EEEKKKK!
As they grew older so did the themes. The last few years we did the haunted casino. We transformed the garage into a dead man’s casino where the kids earned chips for prizes. We always made the most elaborate decorations. No kidding, one year I needed an extra room for the garage haunted house and Tim actually made an 8’X8’ foot room with a real working chandelier. That’s dedication!
So now the kids are gone. We still decorate but we live in the rural part of town so just a handful of Trick or Treaters to frighten off. So, my new line fills my creative need at this time of year. My need to be dark, sinister and spooky.
Just to give you an idea of how large this piece is.
You can find the line on my ETSY site and at Common Folk where Kathryn has already decked the place out for Halloween. She is having a big event September 25 and 26th to kick off the season. More on that in a few days.
Speaking of decking the place out. Take a look at City Flowers. They brought in a few of my things for a Halloween Gala they threw last Thursday night. John and Jonathan, the owners, are amazing stagers.
My huge Haunted Carousel looks puny in this display
Stay posted for more fun Halloween shops and events, including my own blog party and giveaway at the end of the month. Happy haunting my friends, now go out and find some “Spooky Little Things” of your own.
Amada

As always, your work is just enchanting - but that huge carousel - wow! I mean, just, WOW. Amazing.

The carousel is spectacular! I agree - the colors you chose are perfect. My kids still remember the parties and we have the great pictures to reminisce. I do miss getting them all ready in their costumes and going out...remind me to send you the photo of our 4 headed out the door - precious.
