Today I participated in my first ever Seattle Wedding Show held at the Seattle Convention Center. I teamed up with the super talented and equally sweet Margo of
Margo and I have spent the last week putting the finishing details on the booth. The color palette was so fun; mango, fuchsia, and pale pink. It was AMAZING eye candy. We highlighted with black damask for dramatic effect.
Margo gave away 200 standard cupcakes and I am giving away $100.00 towards a Wedding Topper. That box is FULL of slips.
As samples we gave away “Baby Cakes” which were a huge hit. We could not fill the trays fast enough. These are just two of the 40 flavors Pinkabella makes. The coconut is to die for and the chocolate/vanilla butter cream is the beat I have ever had. They were incredibly moist and even people who said they don’t like coconut changed their minds after one bite of these.
Weddings are turning into “themed” events and one of them is carnival/fair theme. I created the Mango “I do” topper with little banner garland for the cake plate and above the couple. Everyone loved the whimsical feel.
Last but not least were the Cupcake Skewers. While driving to the show on Friday to set up Margo and I started talking about these and before we knew it we were both smiling and laughing and figuring out how to do them. I literally finished making them at 11:00 pm at night for the wedding show the next morning and they were a HUGE hit. We had people snapping pictures left and right.
Yes! They defy gravity and stay on that skewer. People took them in and out all day and they kept their frosting. Amazing!
These little Cupcake Skewers can be used as the centerpiece for your tables and dessert in one. What a great idea. These were designed for a garden style wedding but they can be made for any venue/theme you decide. Pinkabella will be carrying these soon and they will also be available on my ETSY.
I am exhausted but excited about the response to the booth, cupcakes and toppers. I am sitting writing this post with my feet up and a glass of wine (and I don’t even drink anymore) treating myself to some much needed quite time.
I snapped these pictures from a distance while coming back from the restroom. The booth was like this the entire day, four rows deep and buzzing with excitement.
By the Way the handsome couple in the picture is my cousins son Jeffrey and his bride Meegan. My husband Tim took this picture at their wedding and it was so lovely Margo used it for the show. Thanks Jeff and Meegan, everyone loved the effect.
I will be back tomorrow for a few hours to help answer questions and clean up. It is always more fun to setup though.
Thanks Margo for letting me be a part of this. Unlike anything I have ever done before.
Hugs,
Amada
gotta love that Margo! :)
